"Where have all the women gone!”
Do we (the men) really need women? In the archaic patriarchal social system, men rule. They earn, judge, decide and impose. Women can be an extra burden, nuisance and a stumbling block! How would the world look like if the women disappear? A world of men, no nagging wives, no daughters to protect, no demanding girlfriends!
YehAurtainKahanGaeen poses this question in an amusing and somewhat bizarre way.
The play has been conceived, developed and produced by the students of Alhamra- Ajoka Theatre Workshop 2025, during a two months long workshop process. Mentored by Ajoka's celebrated playwright-director Shahid Nadeem and guided by Chief Trainer Naseem Abbas with Dildar Mustafa as his deputy, the students were enabled to explore the potential of meaningful and entertaining theatre.
Although the cast of the play consists of young first time actors, but, as you will see, their talent and commitment is remarkable.
Let us appreciate and celebrate our talented and energetic youth and the tremendous potential of theatre for social change.
Ajoka acknowledges the support of Lahore Arts Council for sponsoring the theatre workshop and the visionary approach of the Government of Punjab towards arts and culture.
