Blood Wedding, possibly the best known of Lorca's plays was written is 1932. 1t was first performed in Madrid in 1933 and was directed by Lorca himself. The play was indeed inspired by a real incident reported in a Granada newspaper years before the composition of the play. In Blood Wedding, there is a palpable intention of taking the play's atmosphere away from any nature of a newspaper story. From the field, if he transports real human characters to an unreal world one in which the appearances of the mysterious and fantastic players (as in the personification of the Moon and Death) are possible.
