These two short plays aim to increase awareness about issues such as female literacy, the right of the girl child and the treatment of rape victims in our society. Sharam Di Gal is about an unfortunate victim of rape who is treated in a very insensitive and inhuman manner by institutions like the police, the hospital, the media and the judiciary. The play asks the question what is a matter of shame, being subjected to rape or not supporting the victim against this heinous crime. The play also exposes the flaws in the laws, which make the victim a suspect.
